Blue-Eyed Angel with a Heart of Gold, Called Home

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Joan Catherine Cornett on January 19, 2017, at the age of 76. Joan was born on May 29, 1940 in Los Angeles, CA to Rayburn C. Stockbridge and Juanita (Vaughn) Stockbridge.

Joan was married to Jack B. Cornett on August 15, 1958 in Phoenix, AZ. Their marriage was blessed with eight children as well as having countless others love them as their own parents. Joan’s life was filled with love and adventures, taking care of anyone that needed it along the way. She was the type of person that never met a stranger because she treated everyone in the same loving manner. From working at Polly High School to working at the Salvation Army with convicted felons, she listened and assisted where she could along with treating everyone with respect and compassion. Joan was a woman with a heart of gold.

Joan is survived by her husband Jack Cornett; her brother Gary Brady; sister-in-law Patsy Kanatzar; daughter Sherri Taylor; daughter Patricia Molina; daughter Jackie Herold and her husband Dan Herold; son Jack Cornett and his wife Jaqueline Cornett; son David Witt and his wife Veronica Witt; daughter JoAnn Payton; grandson Michael Cornett and his two daughters; granddaughter Christyl Hallock, her husband David Hallock and their three sons; grandson Frank Molina, his wife Elizabeth Molina, their son and two daughters; granddaughter Stacey Gutfleisch, her husband Kyle Gutfleisch, their two sons and one daughter; grandson Daniel “Aric” Herold and his wife Jayme Herold; granddaughter Morgan Herold; grandson Dalton McFarland; granddaughter Breeana Cornett; grandson Kingston Witt; great-granddaughter Yasmine Avalos and her son (great-great-grandson)Mathias, great-granddaughter Ina Payton, great-grandson Jason Patterson, great-grandson Junior Ramirez and many nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers and to honor such a loving and caring woman, please make any donations possible to your local orphanage or animal shelter and continue to spread the love of Joan Cornett. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2017 to celebrate the life of Joan Cornett at her home in Killeen, TX.
