My Grandfather served in WWII at the age of 18. He survived one of the deadliest wars of all time. A war that claimed the lives of over 30 million military soldiers and over 60 million people in total. My grandfather was a strong willed man. He had a great sense of humor and he was such a family man, he was a provider. I love hearing him tell stories and make jokes. He made me smile. I love the way he greeted me “Hello Darling!”. He was sincere and bold. He was welcoming and direct. He made me feel special and was an amazing leader. He always kept a sound mind and I’m so glad he remembered me. We were blessed to celebrate his 93rd birthday. We threw him a party and we watched him dance. His last days were surrounded by family. I will never forget you Robert Jones. You were one of the best things that ever happened to me.
