Melvin Douglas Cox was born on October 17,1949 to Marie and Joseph Cox the third of four sons. He was educated in the Philadelphia School system. Melvin was a beautiful father and grandfather. He later would meet and marry his wife Silvia Golden of 20years. He was a musician and known wherever he went for he love of Music. Whether on land or just a few months ago by sea he would sing even if no money was paid. He loved to write songs and play the guitar. The only other thing that came close to his love of music was his love for his Family.
Funeral Notice Detail
After a short battle with cancer Melvin's life ended on June 17, 2015 in Norristown Pennsylvania. He was surrounded by his wife and children and grandchildren. He leaves behind wife Silvia, Son Melvin, Daughters: Tamika (son in law Marcus Stokes), Danielle, and Patricia. Also, he leaves behind his nephew Eugene (Scooter) who he had a special relationship with. Melvin’s family and friends are numerous they include a matriarch his mother’s sister Aunt Lorraine, Aunt Coco, best cousin Gerri and a loving niece Dawn whom has always been there for my dad. Melvin is preceded in death by his Father Joseph, Mother Marie, and his brothers Joseph Jr., Eugene Sr. .The repasts will be held at his aunt Coco's home 7038 Old York Rd Philadelphia Pa19126.
