Wayne William Templeton, 62, left us unexpectedly on Friday, July 20, 2018. With him were his best friends and companions, his pets, Tesla and Tara (Gryphon R.I.P 7/6/2017).

Born August 26, 1955 in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, Wayne was the beloved son of the late Mordecai Henry and Mary Virginia Templeton. He was a lifelong area resident of both the San Francisco Bay Area and Portland, Oregon. Wayne grew up in Concord, California, attending Queen of All Saints School and graduating from De La Salle High School.

Wayne hoped his legacy was to have had an indelible impact on his nieces and nephews. He hoped to have had an influence on their future with music, a sense of humor, and a desire to never stop being a kid no matter what your age.

Wayne’s accomplishments include serving in the National Guard with an honorable discharge. His career as an ITS manager began with Bank of America and ended working as a Release Manager for the Office of the President at the University of California, Berkeley. He received the Staff Recognition and Appreciation Program Award in honor of his superior employee performance.

Wayne was a musician, an artist, and had a heart of gold. He was a mentor and a friend to so many people. He never truly understood how his smile, his infectious laugh and his actions brought joy to so many people. He simply made the world a better place with his presence. He would always be there to support someone in need.

He loved motorcycle runs on his Harley with his brother Eric and good friend Randy. He enjoyed spending Sunday afternoons with his brother-in-law Robert watching the San Francisco 49ers.

He shared so many stories about living in the Bay Area back in the 70’s. Hanging out with Joan Jett and the Runaways when they performed at little clubs in Berkeley or when Amanda Black (Romeo Void) tried to pick him up on Irving Street after a performance at the I-Beam Nightclub in San Francisco.

But the best stories he could ever tell were through the collection of music and videos he composed and produced. They will live forever through Howling Chip Music (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrDJPbGtGq8xHTfMz24rA0Q) and his recent ventures with Liquid Skies, where he was so committed to creating a sound everyone could experience and enjoy.

Wayne is survived by his siblings Kirk Templeton, Mary Louise Denison, Eric Templeton (wife, Bich), Lee Ann Templeton Griffin (husband, Robert), Mona Rangel, and his nieces and nephews who he adored and was very proud of: Sara, John Paul, Thomas, Erika, Jacob, Nicole, Megan, Drew, Trenton and Jade. He is preceded in death by his brother, Baby Boy Templeton.

A Candle Light Ceremony has been set on what would have been Wayne’s 63rd birthday tomorrow, Sunday, August 26 at 6:30 PST. At this time please light a candle or just for a moment remember, embrace, and celebrate the life of Wayne William Templeton the best way you know how.

A formal celebration of life will be held at a future date.
