Mary Lucille Eschker Avoca Mary Lucille Eschker, 94, of Avoca, died Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Blue Water Hospice Home, Marysville. She was born August 5, 1918 in Avoca, the daughter of the late James and Anna (Foley) Brennan. Her marriage to George Eschker was May 1941 in Emmett. George died May 10, 1967. Lucille graduated from St. Stevens High School and Port Huron Business College. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Emmett, member of the Emmett Seniors and a 50+year member of the Daughters of Isabella Circle #452. She worked for Avoca Elementary School in the library and lunchroom for 16 years before retiring in 1983. Surviving are daughters Mary Click, Rose (Jack) Barton-Berenz, Margaret (Gordon) Collins, and Sandra VanBuskirk, sons, Louis (Barbara), Max (Vickie) and Peter; 29 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna Francek and Helen (William) Noel; sons-in-law, Robert (Alicia) Horvath and Michael McKernan, sister-in-law Dorma Brennan and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by daughters, Lucy Collins, Carol Horvath and Alice McKernan; brothers, Leo and Robert Brennan, sister, Elizabeth (John) Mobarak, grandson Ron Watteny, great-grandson, DJ Ratliff; sons-in-law, Edward Collins, Bill Barton, and James VanBuskirk. Her family honors the memory of Lucille and invites you to visit and share Thursday April 25, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Richmond. Rosary devotion services will be 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rite of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church with 10:00 a.m. visitation. Fr. Tom Kuehnemund, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-Kenockee Cemetery, Kenockee Twp. Memorials are suggested to Mid-Michigan Affiliate Susan G. Komen for the Cure or Blue Water Hospice/VNA.
