Dorothy Larson

Dorothy Larson moved from Chicago, IL to Beloit, Wi, with her parents and older brother and younger sister in 1947.
She graduated from Spring Arbor High School in 1953, attended Spring Arbor College and graduated from Greenville College.
Dorothy spent her career teaching elementary school in Elgin, Illinois, she was passionate about teaching and loved her students. After she retired she cared for her mother, Ruth, who was able to live comfortably in her own home until her passing at age 97.
Dorothy was very active as a volunteer with the Friends of Riverfront Park in the “Blooming Bunch”. They met to plant and weed and maintain the gardens in the park. She also helped with fundraisers and other events as she was needed. She was a valued volunteer and will be missed. She enjoyed gardening and especially loved flowers, pansies were her favorite.
Dorothy was a devoted and loving daughter, caring sister and aunt. She was a good friend and neighbor. Dorothy will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She inspired others through her passion for education, art and caring for others.
