Delyn M. Simonis, 68, of Cedar Hill, passed away unexpectedly on the afternoon of 16 February 2019 in her home in Cedar Hill, Texas. Funeral services will be held 3PM on February 27, 2019 at the Covington Funeral Home, in Covington, Tennessee. Burial will follow at Magnolia Gardens. Arrangements are by Covington Funeral Home. Delyn was born in Marshall, Michigan to Floyd E. Simonis and Doris J. Stern nee Graham on 26 June 1950; she was the eldest sibling of four. She graduated from Saline High School in 1968 and Cleary College in 1973. She worked for over 30 years as a Collections Manager for NACM Southwest in Irving, Texas. She was a veteran serving in the 1st US WAC Battalion and was recognized for her skill in Riflery. Delyn had a very generous nature and was involved with multiple charities, including Tri-City Animal Shelter, the Kidney Foundation and the Union Gospel Mission Dallas. Upon her death, her charitable nature continued in that she provided Tissue and Eye donations to Southwest Transplant Alliance. Delyn is preceded in death by father, Floyd E. Simonis. Delyn is survived by: her sisters, Donna Simonis, Beth (William) Maddock, and Sally (Mark) Sullivan; her mother Doris Stern; and, her nephews Matthew Maddock and Steven Sullivan, as well as niece Leslie Maddock; and, finally, her fur-baby Emmy. In lieu of flowers, a donation to one of Delyn’s favorite charities in her name may be made. The family of Delyn Simonis wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Cedar Hill Police Department and Emergency Medical personnel that assisted Delyn in her final moments. The family, also, wishes to thank all of Delyn’s friends and work colleagues who have been very supporting in this time of loss. Delyn was loved by many and will be missed.
