A person’s End of Days is always difficult to cope with:
– from the immediate family
– to her friends
– to those who simply loved Shirley for who she was.
Therefore,This page is meant to symbolize a Celebration of Life.
I have no uncertainty that she was lovingly received into the most wonderful place in the Universe: Heaven,
and that can never be a sad thing.
I have the clearest picture in my mind of her mother Marie and Aunt Maxine opening their arms to her, embracing her, and welcoming her home.
She was blessed with a great spirit of empathy, especially for those who have been afflicted by illness or sadness.
She gave freely of herself and had a flare of style no one I know could compare.I will always remember her Black hair .black eyebrows and red lipstick.
and she imparted love generously to others who shared her life.
I know that Mom is smiling upon us today because she always smiled when her family was gathered together. Family was at the core of who mom was She bore 8 children: Randy Lewis , Diana ,Donald ,David ,Cathy Leota ,and Jimmy.
We should remember today not to mourn her passing but to celebrate her life. She was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother .
Let us be happy for ourselves and for the privilege to have known our mom, Shirley Maxine Dunham Rhoades, and to have been touched by her life.
For all the wonderful moments, you have given all of us,
our dear, sweet Mom,
we all – thank you.
