Mona Richardson
Place of birth: Trinidad, West Indies
On the afternoon of January 14th, 2016, Mona Richardson, 67, entered eternal life. She passed away after a brief hospitalization surrounded by her children in Miami Beach, Florida. She is survived by her daughters Asha Ellis (husband Willie), Sayeeda Richardson (William), Reshma Richardson (Alex), and Reena Richardson (David); two grandchildren, Jala and David; big sister “Deed” and little sister Chandra; nieces and nephews who she regarded as bonus-children; friends and extended family.
Mona left Trinidad at the age of 21 to begin her adventure which took her to St. Croix, USVI, Miami, Florida, several states in the US, and many islands of the Caribbean. During her lifetime she was a business owner having owned a variety of businesses before embarking on a career in the healthcare industry. Mona was an avid music lover and loved animals. She participated in symbolic adoptions of cardinals (her favorite bird) through the Audubon Society, supported Zoo Miami, and doted on her grand-dog Ziggy. Mona never missed an opportunity to pray with and for anyone in need. She is predeceased by her parents, several siblings, and ex-husband Kenrick Richardson.
