Mia Roper was one of 12 children. Her mom Maude Lee Scott and dad Marcus Garvey Roper. She loved everything about school from a young age and though she struggled in her young adulthood came to know the Lord in her last days. She is loved and adored by her 36 first nephews and nieces and 29 great nephews and nieces. She leaves behind her daughter Mia Anne Roper (7) and her daughter Mia Antwanette Roper (1). Mia was well known and liked by all who came to know her and brought a smile to everyone’s face she came upon. Mia Roper will be missed by her family and friends.

Mia Roper went to be with the Lord on February 12th, 2011 at 10:42 AM after battling brain cancer for 8 months. She leaves behind her two daughters Mia Anne Roper (7) and Mia Antwanette Roper (1). Her Mother Maude Lee Scott, Father Marcus Garvey Roper, siblings Linda Roper-Neville, Marcus Garvey Roper Jr., Patricia Roper-Robinson, Dina Roper-Wiggins, Mary Roper-Lee, Diana Roper-Paris, Brenda Roper, Lisa Roper-Lane, Larry Roper and Michael Roper.
