Marie Small

I was deeply saddened to learn Marie has passed on to be with the Lord, but it was somewhat comforting to know that she was surrounded by close friends and family, and that they all had a chance to say their final goodbyes. I wanted to take this opportunity to share my experiences with Marie as a way to say my final goodbye in her memory, and thought perhaps others would like to do the same.

I came to know Marie some 15 years ago while living with Mark and Kathy and when Nicholas was just a toddler. I had the chance to see her interact with him and spent time together playing with him on occasion. There is no grandmother more loving or prouder of a grandson than what I saw in her for Nicholas.

She treated me with dignity and compassion in a very difficult time and every time I saw her after that over the intervening years. I am thankful for that these many years later and I feel blessed to have known her. She always looked for the good in people, always had a kind word. I am sure all of those who got to know her have similar stories.
