Karen Luann Moore (née Johnson) died unexpectedly in Garland, TX on October 9, 2015 at the age of 62.
Karen is survived by her two daughters, Tiffany Hausner {Shane}, and Sara McKee {Adam}; brother Robert Johnson of Sioux Falls; grandchildren Christian Hausner, Isabella Moore, Brooklyn Moore and Harvey McKee; mother in law Mary Moore; sisters in law Nancy Wilkerson, Joan Johnson, Maxine Johnson, and Annie Johnson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband Peter “Mike” Moore; parents Raymond and Maria Johnson; brothers Richard “Dick” Johnson and Donald “Don” Johnson; father in law James Moore, and brother in law David Moore.
Karen was born on March 9, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa to Raymond and Maria Johnson. She had three older brothers whom she admired and looked up to. She spent a lot of time with her nieces and nephews while growing up.
She married Mike Moore in 1984 just six short months after meeting on a blind date. After moving to Garland, Karen began working as a secretary where she spent the next 20 plus years working. Karen and Mike had two daughters and their children remember her as a kind and loving mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Karen was an avid scrapbooker and spent many hours making scrapbooks for the people she loved. You could always find her with a camera in hand and a layout in mind. She also spent a lot of her time helping those around her. She was a very caring person and wanted those around her to know they were loved. She will especially be remembered as the best Nana anyone could have.
