Connie Roberts, 74, of Fayetteville, formerly of Malvern, died peacefully Wednesday, September 06, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 13, 1940 in Arkadelphia to Dayton and Marguerite McClain Matlock.
Connie was a graduate of Arkadelphia High School, Henderson State University and the University of Mississippi. She taught science at Malvern and Pine Bluff High Schools before becoming a faculty member at Henderson State University. Connie taught chemistry and physical science at HSU for more than 30 years.
She is survived by two children, Brett Roberts and wife Emily of Springdale, Maggie Lee and husband Ronnie of Fayetteville; one brother, John Matlock of Little Rock; one sister, Dottie Tarlton of Malvern; and nine grandchildren, Mitchell, Taylor, Savannah, Emma, Benjamin, Sophie, Michael, Bennett and Harrison.
A memorial service will be held by family at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 13 at Connie’s home in Fayetteville. NWA Mortuary Services handled the cremation arrangements.
