Fernando Ramirez
Place of birth: Bisbee, Arizona
Fernando Ramirez passed away peacefully of natural causes on Dec. 10, 2016, at his assisted living facility in Escondido, California. He was predeceased by his loving wife of over 50 years, Dora Adauto Ramirez, and is survived by their children: Fernando Jr., Ricardo, Alex, Teresa, David and Daniel.
He was born into a large family of nine children in Bisbee, Arizona, where his father worked at the Phelps Dodge copper mine but spent most of his early life in El Paso, Texas where his family relocated. Shortly after marriage, Fernando began his teaching career in El Paso, but soon pursued new teaching opportunities in Southern California for his young family in the late 1950s.

Throughout their many years in North San Diego County, Fernando and Dora were very active members of St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Parish in Oceanside.
Fernando was a friend to all he met and will be missed by many in his home communities of El Paso and Oceanside.
