Donald McCulloch

Place of birth: Lorenzo, ID

Religious affiliation: Mormon

Don was born 27 September 1921 in a log cabin upriver from Lorenzo, Idaho to Edward and Lilace Morgan McCulloch.  He learned to drive when he was 8 or 9 years old and developed a life-long love for cars. In 1942 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps as an Aviation Cadet, beginning a distinguished and even heroic Air Force career that spanned three wars and over 31 years.  Along the way, he met and fell in love with DeNiece Teeples.  They were joyously married 9 September 1947 in the Idaho Falls temple.  Together they moved from place to place (beginning with mainland China!) for his career, and lovingly raised four extremely lucky children.  Don’s beloved DeNiece died in 1984 from complications of MS.  Later, he met and fell deeply in love with Nan Parkinson.  They were married in the Dallas temple 31 May 1985.  Through their union Don also became a second father to four more wonderful children, whom he genuinely loves as his own. Don and Nan enjoyed traveling the world together.  Don served with dedication in temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 20 years.  He was an optimist who greeted each day with joy, and was a blessing to all who knew him.
