Vernon G. Coughran Sr., a loving father, and caring dad passed away on June 12, 2017. He is survived by his four children, Danny, Lance, Brandi and Vernon Jr.  He is loved and missed by all. He was known for his competitive card playing, his fun-loving nature, and his feisty personality. Above all, he loved the Lord with all of his heart. Vernon retired after 20 years from the Iron Workers Union. He then worked at Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) for 22 years with a second retirement. He lived most of his life in San Jose, California, with his final days spent in the care of his children in Utah. Vernon loved professional football and was passionate about the San Francisco 49ers. He could often be found in his armchair enjoying a Coors, cheering on his favorite team.At his passing, Vernon was grandfather to nine, great-grandfather to ten. He requested that no funeral be held, but that his remains be cremated per his wishes.
