Teyonna Shontae Pettaway

Teyonna was born in Hampton to Lashonda R. Pettaway  and Anthony A. Haigood, in her departure of life she is welcomed by Grandmothers Lettie Bell G. Pettaway and Mimi Porter. Teyonna who was affectionately known as “Yonni” was granted her wings on August 6, 2019 after battling an illness for a few years  which rapidly declined her health. She was baptized and became a member of Ivy Baptist Church in Newport News VA on May 4, 2013 She worked at Waffle House  until the business closed. She  leaves behind three wonderful sons whom she cherished  Corde, Cahleel & K’yo, her mother, father, her grandparents Rev. Jesse Lee Pettaway, Joseph & Eunice Haigood. Also her siblings Talisha(her niece Cadence Boyd) & Izaijah Pettaway (resident of VA), Tony Hawkins, Daivon, Shakira, Ayana,& Serenity Haigood, Mykiera Lawson( resident of FL) and Devonte Boswell (resident of VA). She also leaves behind her Uncle Apostle David Pettaway (Delores), Aunt Jessica Johnson(David), and Uncle Aaron Pettaway(Rebecca).  Also numerous uncles, aunts, cousin, and friends, to especially include Shannon, Jasmine(Jazzy), Aaron, Cameron,  Latesia Perkins(Aunt), Kiara, Takia, Breona, Roshanna Fulp(Terrance), best friend Janae and Robert Boyd. She will be dearly and  truly missed by all who knew her.  We like to send a special Thank you to Peninsula Funeral Home for entrusting her remains with such care. *Cards & Flowers are greatly appreciated and graciously accepted at Ivy Baptist Church 50 Maple Ave in Newport News, VA also at the home of her mother LaShonda Pettaway
