Sammie Lee HInes was born on March 13, 1949 to the late Ashley HInes, Sr. and Anna Corine Hines Williams.  He was the step-son of the late Johnnie Williams.  Sammie departed his life on September 3, 2016 at Westchester Hospital in White Plains, NY.  Sammie attended Robinson School in Edgecombe County , in his younger years.  He enjoyed meeting new people and traveling to different places.  He also enjoyed working at a very young age and learning new trades which included, brick mason, mechanical and electrical work.  During his free time he would always find ways to share and show love to those surrounding him.  He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.  He leaves to mourn his death, a special friend of the home Doretha Pittman, three sons;  Sammie Lee Davis and Antonio Funderbrick of Baltimore Md., Orlando Bullock of Rocky Mount, NC., three daughters; Wanda Johnson (Edward) of Colonial Heights, VA., Victoria Davis of Tarboro, NC., Latisha Pettaway of Scotland Neck, NC., seven brothers; Richard HInes (Bertha), Ashley HInes (Diane), Willie HInes, Ray HInes all of Tarboro NC., Ben Hines (Ruth) and Frank Hines both of Leggett NC., Joseph HInes (Deborah) of PInetops, NC., six sisters; Rachael Tillery (Linwood) and Mary Harrell of Philadelphia, PA., and Gearldine HInes of Leggett, NC,  Annie Jones of Pinetops, NC., Hattie Mae Bryant and Georginna HInes both of HIgh Point, NC., grandchildren and a host of neices and nephews.
