Rosalie was a lady with strong faith and loved the Lord. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend with lots of love and grace for all. She loved listening to her husband Jim singing and playing his guitar and enjoyed dancing whenever she got the chance. Rose was very creative and loved to paint. She left many family members with her paintings whether it was on a canvas or on a sweatshirt. One of Rose’s favorite pastimes was camping and it was hard to beat her chicken slow cooked over a wood fire. Rose loved playing board games, cards and enjoyed playing scrabble online with friends. We are going to miss her smile, friendship and amazing generosity and love for life.

Rosalie Ann Cooper went home to the Lord on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Rosalie was 72 and died of cancer at home in Reed City . The child of Carl and Mary Hoitenga, Rosalie was born in Lake City at home. She graduated from Lake City High School. Rose was married on July 3, 1965 to James Cooper, who resides in Reed City. Rosalie is survived by her children Paula Cole (Neal) of Dodge City, Kansas, Cindy Gilman (Steve) of Grand Rapids, MI and Carla Cooper of Big Rapids, MI. Rosalie has 3 surviving siblings, Joe Hoitenga of Williamsport, IN, Don Hoitenga of Lake City, MI and Wil Hoitenga of Leroy, MI. Rose had 6 grandchildren (Scott Veeder, Ashley Clark, Andrew Branch, Clark Gilman, Angie Gilman, Kahlan Boerma, Faith Boerma) and 6 great grandchildren (Kaden, Olivia and Keira Clark, Brianna Gilman and Asher and Amelia Branch). Rose was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Ann Williams and brothers Bernard Hoitenga and Richard Hoitenga.
