Michael James Holly passed unexpectedly at his home in Fort Myers, Florida on October 29, 2015.

Michael was born July 8, 1957 in Erie, PA, the son of the late Robert Holly and the late Jeanne (Calabrese) Holly. He was raised in Valley Forge, PA, where he graduated from Phoenixville Area High School, class of 1975. Michael worked at Allstate Insurance Company and at the Pennsylvania State Stores. A few years after high school, Michael moved to Florida to pursue a career in Hotel and Hospitality Management. Most recently working as a Room Service Manager at the Sanibel Harbor Resort and Spa and then as the Food and Beverage Director of the Airport Town Center Holiday Inn, Fort Myers. Michael was involved in hosting events to support the Harry Chapin Food Bank and was the hotel’s Chairperson to support fundraising efforts for Give Kids the World. Michael also served as a mentor for student interns from Florida Gulf Coast University’s School of Resort and Hospitality Management.

Michael was an avid chess player, enjoyed playing tennis, and was a true Philadelphia Eagles fan at heart. He wholeheartedly cherished his big family, nieces and nephews, and staying connected with his friends Michael will be remembered as a practical joker with a sense of humor that kept everyone smiling, but what will be missed most is his genuine, selfless, and thoughtful personality who touched so many lives.

Surviving siblings: David Holly, (wife Barbara) of Southport, NC, Mary Pat Holly Cathey of Erie, PA, Brian Holly (wife Sherri) of Fort Myers, FL, Nancy Holly Sautello, of Cedar Knolls, NJ, Bob Holly, (wife Jill) of Chester Springs, PA, Richard Holly, (wife Michele) of Audubon, PA, Suzanne Holly Dooley, (husband Mike) of Chester Springs, PA, Kathie Holly Hennessy, (husband Andrew) of Pottstown, PA, Christine Holly Wilkinson, Phoenixville, PA.

Michael was a loving and dedicated Uncle to 9 nieces, 11 nephews, 5 great nieces, 4 great nephews, and 1 great-great nephew.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 9:45 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Parish, Fellowship Road/Rt. 100, Chester Springs, PA. Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m.
