Michael Haggard

Place of birth: None

Michael L. Haggard, 46, passed away Sunday, May 29th, 2016 at his home in Watauga, TX.

In his early years, Michael was in the military and served in the Gulf War as an Airborne Ranger. It was there he found his deep love for his country and a fierce loyalty to family. Born a Lakota Sioux, his warrior nature was honed and he became the great protector we all knew and loved.

Michael was the epitome of a true servant. He was a loving man who was full of wisdom and his stories could make you laugh like no other. He had a gift of speaking to broken men. Whether veteran, homeless or rich, Michael could connect on a deeper level and share their pain while sharing his hope in Christ. His ability to share Jesus anywhere at any time was truly admirable.

The loss of Michael will put a hole in the lives of so many. He served at Air1, Community Enrichment Center – Food Pantry, and felt compelled to feed the homeless. With his wife by his side, he served his country, community and family until the end. He will be missed.

He leaves his beloved wife of 21 years, Sherri Haggard; his father, Jim Hood; his sister, Teri Monroe; brothers, John and Weldon Hood; and a host of nieces and nephews. He loved each of them dearly and they brought joy to his life. Michael was greeted in heaven by his mother Gloria GoodThunder.
