Kenneth Nelson Brown passed peacefully from this life to eternal glory at his residence on October 24, 2016. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Eastdale Village Community Church. He was an avid gospel music lover and singer. He also was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Laity Speakers Board of the Methodist Church. Kenneth was a 1973 graduate of Riverside High School and attended Chattanooga State Community College. A very hard working and industrious man, he engaged in many professional endeavors during his lifetime of work. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee and Evelyn Brown and James and Carolyn Tumblin, and brother, Carl T. Brown. Those left to cherish his memory are a loving mother, Mrs. Gloria (Harold Finley) Brown-Harris, of Chattanooga; father, Richard Brown, Sr., of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; devoted loving wife, Desiree Brown, of Chattanooga; mother-in-law, Mattie Coleman; mourning and missing his earthly presence and love are three beautiful daughters Adana (Eric) Shropshire, Lanesha (Howard) Floyd, and Ashley-Brown (James) Crafton; step-daughter; Stephanie Kellogg; step-son, Larry Parker; loving grandchildren, Anna, Ashley, Makayla, Oran, Daysia, Ma’Cai, Keosha, Jordyn, Howard Jr., Jaylen, Jamyla, Jayceon, and Kayden; three brothers, Dr. Richard (Lorraine) Brown, David (Carolyn) Bins, and George Anthony Brown; sister, Jimmette Darlene Bray, all of Chattanooga; a host of nieces, nephews, loving aunts, and uncles, including Montine Kelly, Barbara Davenport, Reverend Vivian (Cecil) Langston, John (Patricia) Tumblin, and Edgar Tumblin; very special to Kenny were aunts Katherine (George) Saddler (also a dear friend) and Beulah King, all of Chattanooga, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Notice Detail

He will lie in state Saturday, October 29, 2016 after 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. in the chapel.  A homegoing celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at 1 p.m.at Olivet Baptist Church with Bishop Kevin Adams, Sr., officiating. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
