Joyce Irene Shinn, 72, of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away at 8:05 PM Sunday, June 15, 2014, at her home. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 PM Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor Jamey Dyke will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of services Thursday at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home. Joyce was born July 31, 1941, in Hannibal, MO to Pink Dudley and Vella Jacobs Sims. She was married to Gary W. Shinn on April 29, 1972, in Hannibal, MO. He preceded her in death March 22, 2009. Survivors include 6 children, Paula J. Lovell (Craig) of Hull, IL, Jeff Shinn (Tracey Popisil) of Hannibal,   Dorothy Lehenbauer (Carl) of Columbia, MO, George W. “Billy” Shinn (Lisa ) of Hannibal, MO, Larry Shinn of Columbia, MO, Kenneth Shinn (Janet) of Hannibal, MO and Jimmy Shinn (Kacie) of Hannibal, MO, Brother, James Sims (Donna), 14 Grandchildren, Justin Reever, Candace Mauer, Stacy Giltner, Ashley Veach, Branham Lehenenbauer, Joey Shinn, Paul “Billy” Shinn, Christopher Shinn, Tyler Shinn, Stephanie Barnett, Levi Shinn, Tiffany Shinn, Cole Shinn and Keatyn Shinn. She had numerous great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 son in law; Carl Lehenbauer, 4 brothers; Donald Sims, Gary Sims, Lester Sims and Larry Sims and 1 sister; Mary Thompson. Mrs. Shinn was the former manager of the Northeast Missouri Sheltered Workshop and the owner of the Shinn Residential Center. Joyce loved to travel and was a big fan of Elvis and his music. Joyce liked her soap operas, especially “Day of our Lives”. She also enjoyed an occasional visit to the Mark Twain Casino. Most of all Mrs. Shinn loved her grandkids and enjoyed spending time with them. She attended Standing on the Rock Ministries. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donor’s Choice in the care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Tyler Shinn, Christopher Shinn, Cole Shinn, Joey Shinn, Branham Lehenbauer, and Ryan Moore.
