Sweetheart, Dad and Papa to those who knew him and to those who loved him, was born in Denver, Colorado to Benjamin F Valdez(deceased) and Mable Valdez(deceased). He began as a rigger for the US Naval Shipyard and remained employed for 30+ years, retiring as a GM-13 Superintendent in 1998. As a person who cannot sit still and had to remain active, he continued to work. He worked for La Mirada Country Club for several years as a bar manager but found a true passion in Locksmithing. He went to school to become a locksmith and holds several certificates in his trade. A truly remarkable and generous man who wanted to share his knowledge, he decided to teach others. He has been a Locksmith instructor for several years, teaching in a small classroom at Calvary Baptist Chapel. He was known to many as a jack-of-all-trades. A simple man, he was loved and will be missed deeply by those he loved dearly.
Funeral Notice Detail
He passed away unexpectedly at Denver Health from a traumatic fall that left him comatose for several days until he decided to join his creator on March 22, 2018. Beloved "husband" to his living wife Geneva. Beloved "dad" to his living children, John, Jason, Jackie(Valdez). He is beloved "Papa" to his 10 living grandchildren, Jennifer "Nikki"(Valdez), Justin "JT" (Valdez), Patrick (Myers), Joshua "FROG" (Valtairo), Aleah (Valdez), Logan (Valdez), Audrey (Potts), Jacob (Potts), Jonah (Valtairo) and Riley (Potts). Also, a beloved brother to his surviving sister, Linda & Hank (Boardman) and beloved uncle to Barry and Karen. He was loved by his cherished pet companion, Shelby.
