GLENROSE MARY SHEFFEL

Glenrose Mary Sheffel, 98, passed away the morning of July 12, 2016 peacefully thanks to Oceanside Elderly Care Home, Advantage Health Systems Hospice and especially her daughter and caregiver Patricia Sheffel. Glenrose was born to Charles and Eva Torrey on February 28, 1918 in Minnesota.  She was the oldest of ten siblings. She married Joseph Sheffel in 1940 and they had 5 daughters. Glenrose and Joseph retired to California from Minnesota in the late 1960’s settling in the La Salina Mobile Village, in Oceanside, in 1979. Survivors include her 5 daughters: Gayle of Wisconsin, Linda (Gerold), Joann (William), Priscilla (Tim) and Patricia, all of California.  There are 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson. She also had 3 sisters: Loraine (David) of  CA, Arliss of Texas, and Sandra (Scott) of CO, as well as brother Jerry (Diane), of Mora, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph (1982),  parents, Charles and Eva Torrey, sisters; Barbara O’Kane, Delores Benzel, Mavis Makousky, and brothers Lester and Chester Torrey. She will be remembered for her positive and gentle spirit, and her beautiful smile. Celebration of Life will be held on August 13, 2016 at the La Salina Mobile Village Clubhouse from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Interment will be at the Sunset Memorial Park in Minneapolis in September 2016.
