Ella Niskanen is the daughter of Finnish immigrants. She grew up in South Paris, Maine and there met a dashing Marine, Sid Bryant. They married in 1949. Mom was the perfect Marine wife. She moved when necessary and held down the fort at home when Sid was away. They had 3 children: Sid, Jr, Eleanor and Helene. Ella buried her soul mate, Sid, in 1981 and her son, Sid, Jr, in 2004. I was privileged to take care of my best friend, my mom, as congestive heart failure took her life. She was the BEST.
