Dora DiRe, 82, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 27th 2015. Born in Italy, Dora traveled to Brooklyn,NY through Ellis Island to make a life for herself in the United States. Dora raised her five children on her own as she was a widow at the age of 39. Dora enjoyed her life through travel, family, faith and her treasured friends. Dora’s outlook on life was always positive regardless of any circumstances. The love she had for her family was extraordinary. Surviving are her beloved children and their spouses ; Pia and Peter McCarthy, Phil and Mary-Ann DiRe, Anna and Steve Tuccillo, Nick and Dawn DiRe, Lena and Michael Zazza, her nine grandchildren; Kristen, Katherine, Jillian, Philip, Olivia, Nicky, Stephen, Michael and Melissa. She will truly be missed.
Funeral Notice Detail
The wake will be held at Joseph A. Brizzi Wednesday, July 29th from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral mass will be held Thursday, July 30th at 10:15 a.m. at St. Catherine of Alexandria 1119 41st, St Brooklyn. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Memorial Sloan Kettering, American Cancer Society and Hospice of New York.
