Donald passed away on December 31, 2017 with his mother by his side. He was born on July 13, 1972 to Donald Holmes Sr and Mary Padgett in Clay County, Florida. He was a lifelong resident of the Northeast Florida area where he worked as a Master Plumber. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Jacksonville Jaguars and Florida Gators. He enjoyed spending time with his family and horse-playing with his several nieces and nephews. Donald was blessed with two beautiful children, a son Austin and a daughter Shay whom he loved dearly. His Papa was his greatest hero and as he would say “the smartest man ever.” He was also blessed with three siblings Crestie Holmes-Atkins, Robert (Tonia) Holmes, and Beverlee Todd, whom gave him several nieces and nephews. And even a couple great nephews.In lieu flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund.https://tcjayfund.org/
