Clinton “Clint” Babbitt was born August 10, 1936 in Miami, OK. He was the 1st son of William & Loraine Babbitt. He grew up in Ok. Then relocated to Redondo Beach, CA with his father at the age of 15. He graduated from Redondo Beach High School. After high school he pursued a career with United Airlines. He married Lavon “Sam” Purington in 1955. They had 5 children together. He started working for General Motors in 1957. He spent 35 years working for GM, while also attending school to become an engineer. In 1964 he married his 2nd wife Joan Marie Roberts. After his retirement he worked full-time at being a landlord to various apartments that he had purchased throughout the years. Clint enjoyed trips to the Redondo Beach pier, fishing and spending time with his family. He tried his hand at a variety of “get rich schemes”. Also in his later years he enjoyed getting involved in yoga and riding bikes at the beach. He enjoyed tinkering with things and was well known for taking items apart in order to rebuild them to make them more “efficient”. He always wore a smile and had plenty of stories to share with whoever took the time to sit and talk with him.
