Christopher Agnus McCarter, 50, died on Thursday July 6th, 2017 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover, NJ after a very long battle with cancer. Chris was born in Morristown to Dana S. and Florence Kelsey and raised in the Indian Lake section of Denville. He had been co-owner and operator of McCarter’s Getty Station and McCarter’s Towing of Denville and Rockaway. He had also been a Deputy Registrar for Denville for nine years and later for the Town of Morristown for three years. His love for his children and the town came out in his volunteerism with his children and their activities in both sports and youth activities. He had also volunteered for many years in the Harvest Festival “Coffee and Donut Shoppe” as well as with the Denville Rotary Ann’s, which he had earned the Paul Harris Fellow. Chris was predeceased by his parents as well as his sister Joyce Lusardi and his brotHis in-law Frank Miller. He is survived by the Love of his Life, Judith A. McCarter, and his children Bruce W. and Nicole McCarter of Denville, and Megan and Christopher Barchetto of Rockaway, as well as his cherished grandchildren Ashlyn, Bryan, Jenna, and Madelyn. He is also survived by siblings Barbara Miller of Mt. Arlington, John and Debbie Kelsey of Hayesville,N.C., David and Jeannie Kelsey of Fayetteville, Ark. And his brother in-law John Lusardi of Randolph, and his dear friend Bill Bartels as well as many special nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 18th, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena R. C. Church in Mt. Lakes, NJ. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ www.normandean.com.
