She loved her job in the photo/fashion department and in the high school dual enrollment program. She was well loved by both the staff and students there. She was also a student there and developed a love for screenwriting and for anthropology. She took the opportunity to travel to Belize in two study abroad opportunities and was part of an archaeological dig there. She was very creative and successful in her novice screenwriting, which she pursued up until her final days. Some of her scripts have already won awards, and other scripts will continue to be submitted for contests and considerations by her children in honor of her lifelong dream. Carlota had a love for beautiful gardens, for cats and for Saint Bernards, for travel, and for Los Angeles and its rich Hollywood history. Her father worked as a director for Warner Brothers Studios and she loved to watch movies that were made in his era. Her favorite movie was “On the Waterfront”. She was a gourmet cook and loved to try new and unusual recipes. She had a wonderful sense of fashion and style and always stayed ahead of the trends. She was a devout Catholic and a parishioner at St. Monica Catholic Church as well as a patron of the St. Monica schools.
