Place of birth: Chicago, Il

  Beth was born the first of 3 to Rosalie and Leo Berman.
Raised in Chicago, Il she pursued and achieved her goal of becoming a nurse. Graduating from Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing in 1963. 
Beth practiced nursing first in Chicago, then in  California, then Wisconsin ’til 1974, when she moved with her Husband and 2 children to join her Mother, Sister, and Niece in Kailua, Hawaii on the island of Oahu.  There Beth practiced nursing at Kaiser Waikiki, Kuakini Medical Center(geriatrics), and Tripler Army Medical Center(civilian employee OBGYN) from where she retired, leaving a well rounded nursing career with a medal for her service. 
A lifetime lover of animals; post retirement, Beth put her time to promoting, and educating the public about Somali and Abyssinian cats.  Beth took great pride in breeding many champion, grand champion, award winning cats; utilizeing stock from Australia to California, she raised many beautiful, intelligent, and affectionate kittens, who were sold to loving homes all over the world. 
Beth also enjoyed having time to volunteer with her faithful dogs Tippy and Blaze every week for many years at Aloha Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, where she and her pups also earned many awards of gratitude.  
Tho she had a deep and abiding affection for her island home, in 2009 Beth relocated to California, where she had the opportunity to spend time with family and become better acquainted with her 2 loving Grand daughters. 
Beth suffered a steady decline in health due to COPD late in 2015, that led to her Death on May 25th, 2016 at 12:25pm. Her Son and Daughter were by her side. She was 74 years old.
Beth is survived by: Her Brother, Sister in law, Cousins, Son, Daughter in law, 2 Grand daughters, Daughter, 2 Nieces, a Nephew in law, a Grand Niece and Nephew (and 2 Great grand ones as well!), Devoted friends, 4 cats, and Blaze. 
We remember you, and hold you in our hearts always.
