Ashton Martin Thomas, age 24, of Smyrna, TN left this world early on a Sunday Morning, September 28, 2014, after injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.

Funeral services were held Saturday at LifePoint Church at 11:00AM. Burial followed in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors.

Ashton is survived by his loving parents, Patrick Thomas and Kendra Robichaud; step-mother, Danita Thomas; grandparents, Billy and Phyllis Thomas of Estel Springs, TN, Ruth Robichaud of Durango, Colorado and Roger Robichaud of Bozeman, Montana and Ray and Anita Westberry of Manchester, TN; aunts, Scarlett Krumrey of Memphis, TN, Kim Robichaud of Hood River, Oregon; and Danielle Velasquez of Durango, Colorado; Step-brother, Alan Clifford of Manchester, TN; Step Aunt and Uncle, Larry and Kim Westberry; along with numerous cousins and extended family.

Ashton was a 2008 graduate of Smyrna High School. He graduated from Motlow State Community College in 2010 and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Middle Tennessee State University in 2013. Ashton was an active member in the Tennessee Air National Guard. He also was employed as a youth instructor with the Smyrna Y.M.C.A.

Ashton loved the outdoors and spent his time in his jeep, fishing, rock climbing, snowboarding, jet skiing, skateboarding, playing frisbee golf, golf, and swimming. He was an avid sports fan of Pro Football and the Atlanta Braves, but especially loved the University of Kentucky Sports.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials in memory of Ashton may still be made to the Smyrna Y.M.C.A. (2001 Motlow College Blvd, Smyrna, TN 37167) or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105).

Visitation was held Friday, October 3, 2014 at LifePoint Church from 3:00PM to 8:00 (10:00)PM.
