Vee Angeline Cochran Dunston
Place of birth: Southside, Alabama
Religious affiliation: Protestant
Vee Angeline Cochran Dunston became Heaven’s newest angel on Thursday, November 7 following a brave battle with heart disease. She was 82 years old and had resided in Ball Ground, Georgia for the past five years.
Born in Gadsden, Alabama, she was full of spunk to all who knew her well. Naturally musically inclined, she excelled at playing the piano and organ. Playing the piano for a school play led her to meet her future husband…the lead in the play.
Always giving of herself, Mrs. Dunston pursued a life-long career as a Surgical Registered Nurse providing comfort to patients, guidance to new nurses and a firm, but wise hand to doctors who challenged her authority in her operating room.
During her time away from the surgical theatre, she baked the world’s best pound cakes and French coconut pies, and doted on her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved fresh flowers and had a mischievous sense of humor.
Mrs. Dunston is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard M. Dunston, the love of her life for 57 years, and her parents Lewis and Eva Cochran.
She leaves a brilliant legacy of humor, grit and self assurance to those who survive her. Survivors include three daughters, Pam Mullins (Paul) of Ball Ground, GA; Cindy Dunston Quirk (Steve) of Anderson, IN; Anita Juilianna (John) of Melbourne, Florida; five grandchildren, Shannon, Katie, Hilary, Jeremy, and Jonathon and four great grandchildren, Patrick, Parker, Evelyn and Theo.
Now we have memories. Strong ones. Happy ones. Loving ones.
Thank you for a life full of love, joy and happiness. You are our inspiration and hero who taught us we could do anything we put my minds to and to inject it with a good dose of humor!
Godspeed. We love you with all our hearts.
