On June 1st,1945 our heavenly father gave Mr & Mrs. Storey a healthy baby girl. She was welcomed into the family by Dionne Porritt (Dew) Then she & Aunt Dew welcomed Christina (Aunt Chris), Shelly &Ken Storey. Through the years they watched her grow with smiles on their faces. In 1966, My ma married Mr. Richard Cromwell. Together they had 2 children. My handsome brother Craig was born in 1965 & my beautiful sister Kimberly (Kim) entered this world in 1967. As my ma & Richard grew they realized that their love was fading. My ma left Richard. After some time she met and fell in love with my dad Mr.Alfred C. Monday snr. All of the family called my dad either Al or Sonny. They married on June 16th,1969. Shortly after on July 22,1969 they welcomed a handsome son into the world whom they named after my dad….Alfred C.Monday jr. Known to our family as Clint. Then October 22nd,1975 they welcomed a beautiful little girl (me-Mellissa Monday.) My dad & ma watched us grow and wished us nothing but the best. My mom got her diploma in 1977. As the years went on she went back to further her education. She became a phlebotomist. Uncle Ken, my ma’s brother and her took the course together. Uncle Ken allowed my ma to practice on him until she got it right. Despite his arm looking like a pin cushion, she became really good at it. She retired in 2001 from
Northside Hospital in St.Pete, Florida. During her time my ma became a grandma to 7 beautiful grandchildren. Craig (Karra) had Craig Jr, Sabrina & Mystical Cromwell. Kim (Walt) had Aaron & Kyle McPherson Mellissa (Mark) had 2 Alan & Chelsey Griffin.
My ma had numerous interests such as reading, bingo & many computer games that she played with online friends.
My ma had 2 if not more dear friends, Amy Kodat & Karra Smith. They grew so close that they both called her mom. Along with my Aunt Shelly, Aunt Chris &Uncle Ken & I . Karra and Amy were by her bedside daily.
She was preceded in death by both her parents ; David & Beverly Storey, her husband Alfred “Sonny” Monday snr & her loving sister Dionne “Dew” Storey.
Although she is greatly missed, we know God reached his hand down and lead her home to heaven where she is pain free and with loved ones that were waiting for her with big smiles and lots of hugs. Her memory will forever be cherished. Rest in Paradise ma.
