North Carolina native, and former Virginia resident, Peggy Craddock Cox died peacefully in Mint Hill, North Carolina, on October 4, 2016. 

Mrs. Cox was born in Leaksville  (Eden), North Carolina, on November 9, 1928. 

Peg was a mother to her  three surviving children: Vicki Cheryl Cox of Lexington, North Carolina, Nancy Cox Cale of Lowell, Massachusetts, and Charles Bradley Cox and daughter-in-law Mary Beth Woford Cox of Farragut, Tennessee.

Grandchildren include David Lee Rumsmoke of Lexington, North Carolina, Austin Cory Henderson of Lynchburg, Virginia, Christopher John Rumsmoke of Altavista, Virginia, Erin Ashley Cale and Joshua Adam Cale of Lowell, Massachusetts, Jackson Cox, Jennifer Bethany Cox, and Kemper Joo-Young Yoon Cox of Farragut, Tennessee. She is also survived by a nephew Gary Hayden of  Lanexa, Virginia, and nieces Gail Craddock of Raleigh, North Carolina,  and Carol Craddock Honeycutt of Castle Hayne, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ira Craddock, Sr. and Thelma Bohannon Craddock of Eden, North Carolina, sister Lorene Craddock Hayden and brother-in-law Laymon Carlyle Hayden of Eden, North Carolina, brother Ira Craddock , Jr. and sister-in-law Vivian Wyne Craddock of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

She also sold real estate, owned a Christian bookstore for a period of time and frequently substitute taught in local high schools.

Fulfilling a lifelong goal, she graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in her sixties.

One of the biggest highlights of her life was getting to walk the same dusty roads as Jesus during a trip to Israel. If you knew her, I am sure you heard her recount her adventures.
