Michael Bourgoin

Place of birth: Lawrence, MA

“The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively” – Bob Marley

Michael Gary Bourgoin, 60, passed away on July 8th after a long illness. Formerly of Lawrence MA, he was living in Sunny Isles Beach Florida with his beloved wife of 22 years, Gladys Bourgoin. They shared a home with their three sons, Manuel, Jose, and Paulo Castillo. He is also survived by a daughter, Laura Agyeman and her husband Eric of Plaistow NH. He was a very proud grandfather to their child, Elijah. His siblings, Ronald Covey and his wife Shela of Methuen MA, Albert Bourgoin and his wife Darlene of Hampstead NH, Donna Benedict and her husband Duane of Methuen MA, Sharon Morris and her husband Johnny of NC, Robert Bourgoin of Lawrence, MA, and Maryann Carter of Sandown NH, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Michael was educated in the Lawrence Public School System and was a longtime employee of Interval International out of Florida. Affectionately known to most as Hawk, he coached The Poor Farm street hockey team and The Bert’s Tavern Softball team. He was an avid New England sports fan and his trips home always included a stop at Umberto’s Pizzeria in Boston’s North End. Hawk was most passionate about attending the annual Essex St Projects camping reunion.

Michael was full of joy, always smiling and loved to joke around. His laughter was infectious. He will be missed by many, but never be forgotten. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 3rd for close family and friends.
