We got Max in May 2008 shortly after I lost my mother. He helped me get through that terrible loss, and gave me a reason to smile again. I just lost him 2 days ago and am heartbroken. My husband is in ill health, and in a skilled nursing facility, and it has been just Max and I for about 18 months now. He absolutely brought joy and laughter and fun. I don\\\’t honestly know how I am going to get along without him. I am so sad and empty now – in the morning, I just get up and wander through the house looking for him (even though I know he\\\’s not here). I am thankful that he is in doggie heaven now – not having diabetes anymore and is healthy and can run and play with his friends. I love you, Max.
