Jim Ruth, Born on June 11th 1942 in Lansdale, PA . to the late Betty and Earl Ruth , passed away on June 10th 2016 at 10:50 am. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Evelyn Ruth, whom took care of him until the day he passed on. His sons Scott and Troy, Daughter in law Lisa, Brothers Dick, Dave and Larry , sisters Jeanette and Arlene , and Grandchildren Becca and Joey.Jim grew up going to many race tracks such as Hatfield, Langhorne and FlemingtonJim Ruth was a former sprint car driver. Racing was just in his blood. There are alot of reasons why Jim loved racing but one of the main reasons are because he got to race at the big tracks. The big tracks were his absolute favorite places to race. During the years he had alot of different racing numbers, but it was mostly # 55 .. some people think racing isn’t a dangerous sport, but back in the day, the cars had NO roll cages. ( A Roll Cage is a specially engineered and constructed frame built in the passenger compartment of a vehicle to protect its occupants from being injured in an accident, particularly in the event of a roll-over.) So just by reading that description of a Roll Cage, it was a very dangerous sport, more back when Jim raced, then it is present day. He loved racing so much that one time, he walked with his dad from Lansdale Pa to Langhorne Pa to watch Champ Dirt Cars. His favorite drivers growing up were Ted Horn, Jimmy Bryan and Don Branson. He loved racing all together, but his favorite track was Flemington Speedway in NJ. Jim was also a truck driver for Haines & Kibblehouse. He enjoyed fishing and taking photos, in the last few years of his life, he enjoyed printing racing photos along with family photos, just to have them and to have something to do since he was homebound. He loved collecting anything racing related.Jim Ruth is loved and missed by many, but he is no longer hurting and he is now racing in heaven. Jim Ruth, 1942-2016.
