Place of birth: Kalamazoo, MI
Religious affiliation: Christian
Born on March 31st, 1967 in Kalamazoo, Jill would be the only child of parents Lucy and Robert. As Jill grew up she was an exemplary student who enjoyed playing her flute in the band and keeping the company of her lifelong friend. She later went on to attend a small college where she studied to become an Elementary and Special Education teacher. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree she accepted her first teaching position as a Special Education teacher for a small rural district. In May of 1995 she married her husband who she met when set up on a blind date by her future sister-in-law and aunt. Their first date was to the beach where he would later propose in the car while it rained. Shortly after marrying and taking in their first fur baby, Bo, they had their first daughter, Megan who was born in July of 1997. After almost 5 years of watching their first baby grow up they were blessed with their youngest daughter, Rebecca who was born in February or 2002. Unfortunately, their time together was too short. On February 25th, 2019 Jill passed away unexpectedly. Leaving behind her husband of 24 years, and two daughters (ages 21 and 17). She had been a dedicated and formative educator for 30 years in the same district she started in shaping the minds of all kids that passed through her classroom. She was a loving friend, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, aunt, niece, daughter, wife, and mother. She was preceded in passing by her father, mother-in-law and father-in-law. Jill’s impact on her world will remain and continue to show. Her beautiful smile, infectious giggle, gentle heart, and unconditional love is felt every day.
