Place of birth: Flint, MI
Harris, James Wentworth, age 62, of Ft. Myers, FL, departed from Hope Hospice in Ft. Myers to be with his Heavenly Father after getting his wings, February 24, 2015. Jim was born in Flint, MI on March 3, 1952, the son of Van D. and Marjorie M. (Scott) Harris. He was a 1970 graduate of Flint Northern High School. He also studied at the University of Michigan. He resided in Ft. Myers many years and was employed as a concierge at a Sheraton Hotel before becoming disabled. He was an extremely talented musician and avid guitar player. Surviving are: the love of his life, fiancée, Treava Poole; son, Adam (Amanda) Harris; daughter, Amanda (Tom) Weiss; Treava’s children, Mackenzie Clower and Jacob Clower; brother, Steve (Debbie) Harris; several nieces and nephews; special caregiver, Renova Clower and all of Jim’s nurses from Hope Hospice. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Van and Marjorie Harris and sister, Saundra K. (Harris) Birchmeijer. A ‘Celebration of Life Service’ will be held at Chapel By the Sea Church, Ft. Myers Beach, FL on March 17, 2015 @ 9:30 a.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to help with Jim’s Memorial Dinner, made payable to Treava Poole.
