My daughter lost her best friend Alfie who took his own life age 14. This is taken in the cemetary where he is buried outside Sheffield. To keep his memory alive we printed out some images that they took together on their mobile phones and put them on his grave. It was hard to reconcile this intelligent, talented, loving, boy with a pile of untended cracked dirt under which he is buried and this brought home the finality of the situation – that he is never coming back and that all the glamour around suicide played out in shows like 13 Reasons Why is rubbish – because there is nothing good about a child being lost forever.
