Francis E. “Frank” Gierer, of Maryland Heights, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 at home at the age of 87.
Loving husband of Linda M. Gierer; beloved son of the late Francis A. Gierer and Cecilia Gierer; devoted father of Margie (Bob) Laurent, Tony Gierer, Sharon (Don) Puckett, Michelle (Michel) Bédard, Charles (Shelley) Porter, and the late Joseph E. Porter; dear brother of Howard Gierer and the late Harold “Buddy” Gierer; cherished grandfather of 14 and great-grandfather to many.
Frank was a WWII Navy Veteran serving in the Pacific on the USS Missouri. He retired after many years of work as a Machinist, lastly working for McDonnell Douglas for over 10 years.
