Place of birth: De Smet, South Dakota
Brian John Walker was born March 16, 1966 in De Smet, South Dakota to Charles and Margaret (Robertson) Walker. He graduated from Ida Grove Community High School in 1984. He attended Cornell College and Buena Vista University graduating with a triple degree in English, Philosophy, and Religion. Brian worked as a technical writer for Gateway Computers, Freedom Scientific, and the Iowa Department for the Blind. Brian enjoyed reading fantasy and science fiction novels and wrote extensively but was never published. Brian resided in Ames, Iowa for the past 5 years. Grateful to have shared in his life are his mother, Margaret Walker; brothers, David (Jeri) Walker, James Walker, and Dale Walker; his sister, Della (Jeff) Holmes; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Walker and sisters, Joyce Walker, Karen (Walker) Baumberger, and Carol (Walker) Behrmann.
