Barbara Louise Shultz, age 84, of Columbus, Ohio, passed into God’s hands on the morning of October 31, 2015. She was a dedicated wife, involved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a wonderful example of faith, hope and charity!
Barbara L. Shultz was born Barbara L. Morris on February 27, 1931, in Columbus, Ohio to Cornelia and Junerous Morris. She had 1 sister and 2 brothers. Later she married and moved to Louisville, Kentucky where she raised 6 children and 3 step-children and made her home at 927 South 28th street for more than 50 years.
Barbara was a graduate of University of Louisville and worked for the UofL archives. She also worked for the Jefferson County Public Schools. She earned the Volunteer of the Year award from the Red Cross. She was a faithful member at Eastern Star Baptist Church for over 50 years and served on the usher board.
She is survived by her daughters Toreatha Davis of Kentucky & Valarie Shultz-Wilson of Connecticut and her son John Shultz of Georgia; her step-son Raymond Davis of Ohio and William Shultz of Kentucky; her step-daughter Maxine Shultz-Little and daughter-in-law Murrell Stevenson. She has 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband Jessie Shultz; all her siblings; sons Clinney Stevenson II, Donald Stevenson, Charles Davis, daughter-in-law Peggy Stevenson and grandson-in-law Dejuan Smith.
