Augustus Williams

On May 25, 2017 Augustus Williams, after an extended illness, departed this life. He was visited by Chaplin Tim McDaniels and received his last rites during this period of illness.Augustus, known to all of us as Gus, was born on August 17, 1944 to the late Joseph and Lucille Williams and had seven siblings, three of whom preceded him in death, Minnie Dell Roberts, C.J. Towns and Madie B. Futch.Gus joined the military branch of the Army in 1964 and served during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he married Annie Addison Williams and of this union was born two children, Regina and Reginald, and as a family made their home in Middleburg, FL.Gus began his career as a truck driver for more than 30 years and retired from Pritchett Trucking Company in 2009. He was a beloved member of the community with a giving spirit and good heart.Augustus leaves to cherish his memory his two children, Regina Williams Bussey and Reginald C. Williams; sister, Elizabeth Flowers, brothers, James (J.C.) Williams (Mary Ruth), Roosevelt Williams (Queen) and Willie Williams; grandchildren, Demarcus, Adrian, Blaine, Taylor and Brittney Bussey; three great-grandchildren, Daisa, Janari and Demarcus Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.A visitation will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. following the visitation, which begins at 10:00 a.m. All services will be held at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 2703 Forman Circle, Middleburg, Florida 32068.
