Lina Archuleta

Place of birth: Santa Fe, NM

Religious affiliation: Catholic

Mom was born in a convent in Santa Fe, New Mexico where she has very fond memories of family and growing up on the family farm raising animals and harvesting fruit. Mom has shared many great stories that will be passed on. Grandpa and Grandma eventually moved to California for a time and finally settled in Salt Lake City, UT where the Martinez family has grown it’s roots in the hundreds. Mom was all about fun as youth and has had some pretty crazy experiences she loves to share. Mom was a hard worker and cared about her image as a mother, daughter and servant to the community and the Lord. Her doors were always open. Mom was protective of her kids and grand kids. Those that knew her knew not dare speak out of turn or look at us cross. Her wrath was fiery; a trait she has passed on. Her home and fridge was always open to our friends and family in need and they were made to feel special during the holidays. Our mother leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion and love. Her exuberant personality lives on in each of her grandchildren who love and adore everything about her in each of her children they each carry her torch of compassion, giving and forgiveness.

Funeral Notice Detail

Mom was very ill and very faithful to her religious belief. The Catholic Church was called to perform her final sacrament in witness of her immediate family on the night of her passing. Mom passed away very peacefully in the presence and comfort of her family. Mom was hospitalized for complications due to pneumonia. Mom felt at peace and chose to surrender her life to the Lord and his blessings.

Our mother was called home where she is free and whole again. Her journey was not easy, but we know she would say it was extremely worth living. Please offer your prayers this holiday as we mourn our mothers death and celebrate her life.
