Gerald joined the US Navy after graduating from Liberal High School in Kansas and spent 12 years as a sailor. He met Hiroko Masumoto while stationed in Japan and they married December 21, 1964 in Tokyo, Japan. They had 38 years together before she passed away in January of 2003. They had 2 children: Naomi and Kenji; 2 granddaughters: Kimiko and Hiroko; and 5 grandchildren by association: Kyle, Olivia, Jordan, Shyane, and Braden.
Funeral Notice Detail
Gerald passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 25, 2015 while at the VA Hospital in Roseburg, Oregon. He was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer in February and it spread rapidly.
A Memorial Service will be held at
