Funeral Notice Detail

Carmen Rosa Figueroa, better known as Rosie, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2015 at the age of 77, from complications of Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Rosie was born on August 30, 1938 in Añasco, Puerto Rico. She grew up as the youngest of 5 children and was raised in Puerto Rico as a young child and in NYC during her teens years. At the age of 19 she moved back to her homeland of P.R. and had a successful career as an Executive Administrator. In 1968, she married Melvyn Domingo Massari and had two wonderful boys. After their divorce, she moved back to NYC with her two sons and was an amazing single parent, working and sacrificing everything for the two loves of her life. Rosie was an amazing woman with an incredible sense of humor. She was loved by everyone that knew her, and was always unselfishly compelled to help others. Throughout her life she created countless unforgettable memories and always inspired those that were very close to her.

Rosie's favorite things in life were spending time with her family, anything Elvis, animal print and interior decorating. With a small budget, she could make any place look fabulous. She lived her last 25 years in South Florida near her sons who grew up to become professional experts in their fields because of her. She was their number one advocate and supporter in following their dreams, and they did just that. She was a very proud Mom and Grandmother. She was devoted to making her family happy. Spoiling her grandchildren was on the top of the list. We consider her our beloved Mother, Grandmother, hero and guiding angel. She will be immensely missed and always remembered.

Rosie was born to parents Rafael Figueroa and Carmen Nogueras on August 30, 1938 in Añasco, Puerto Rico. She is survived by her Ex-husband, Melvyn Domingo Massari, Sons and Daughters-in-law, Rafael Andrés Massari and wife Lisa Marie Massari, Javier Andrés Massari and wife Lisa Darlene Massari; Brothers, Robert Figueroa Sr., Rafa Figueroa and Jose Figueroa and Grandchildren, Rachel Goldman, Dylan Massari and Veronica Rose Massari.
